The Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce is hosting the Spring Swing Golf Outing on Friday, May 10 at the Edgewater Country Club.  To register your team call the Tomahawk Chamber at 453-5334.

The Tomahawk Hatchet Golf Team will hold their benefit scramble on Saturday, May 11 at the Inshalla Country Club.  Tee times will start at Noon with dinner at the completion of the round.  To register your team, please call Inshalla at 453-3130.

Tomahawk Lions' Treasure Hunt will start June 1 and run the entire month. Look for hidden silver pins that feature two Tomahawks and Lions logo. If you find one call Lion Kevin Imm 966-3108 and you will win $100.00 to be awarded at the 4th of July festivities. Pins could be hidden downtown, in Sara Park, Veteran's Memorial Park or other busy places around town.

Ties That Bind Us is hosting the June Cleavage Open on Saturday, June 1 at the Inshalla Country Club.  Registration is from 2:00 to 2:45 pm, with golf beginning at 3:00 pm.  Sign-up sheets are available at Inshalla or call Lori at 966-4385.

The Merrill Area Chamber of Commerce is holding their 46th annual Chamber Golf Classic on June 3 at Merrill Public Golf Course.  To register your team call the Merrill Chamber Office.

Ties That Bind Us will be hosting an ongoing Cancer Support Group/Caregivers Support Group meeting on the first Tuesday of every month, next meeting is Tuesday, June 4th. The meeting will be held at 6:00 pm at Incredible Bank on North Fourth Street. For more information or if you have any questions call 499-3326.

The Aspirus-Tomahawk Hospital Foundation has scholarship application forms available for college students.  This annual program has provided over $100,000.00 in funding for students studying in the healthcare related field.  Scholarship applications are available at the hospital/clinic greeters desk, at WJJQ and on-line at wjjq.com.  Application deadline is July 1, 2024.

Tomahawk Regional Chamber of Commerce will once again be hosting our traditional Arts, Craft and Vendor Fair July 3 from 9:00 am to 3:00 pm on the Sara Park soccer fields.  Open and free to the public, plenty of parking. Something for everyone with 90 plus vendors plus a FREE bouncy house for kits, live music, shade tent, and food vendors.

Tomahawk's Support Group for Caregivers of someone living with Dementia, meets the third Thursday of every month from 3:00 to 4:00 pm at the Tomahawk Senior Center. If anyone has any questions they can reach out to Jesse Welch at 453-2164 or by email jwelch@nshorehc.com.

The Tomahawk TOPS (Taking Pounds Off Sensibly) meetings on Wednesdays at the lower level of the Methodist Church off Bradley Farm Road. Weigh-ins begin at 9:00 am; the meetings at 10:00 am. Visitors are welcome.

Academic Success provides basic skill instruction for students who want to earn their GED/HSED, who may need support on their college coursework or just to "brush up" on their basic academic skills. Nicolet staff are available every Monday and Wednesday from 10:00 am until 2:00 pm in the Tomahawk Library community room. The Prentice School District will hold their annual garage sale from 8:00 to 5:00 pm at Lions Park Pavilion.

Saturday, May 11

The National Association of Letter Carriers will hold their Stamp Out Hunger Food Drive. Fill a bag with non expired, non perishable food items and place by your mailbox. Your mail carrier will collect them and distribute donations to local food pantries.

Lakeland Pantry will celebrate Stamp Out Hunger Day. The Lakeland Pantry has collaborated with the Minocqua, Woodruff, Hazelhurst, Lake Tomahawk and Lac du Flambeau Post Offices. Members are encouraged to leave a sturdy bag of non-perishable food next to their mailbox, your letter carrier will take care of the rest. All items collected will go to the Lakeland Pantry.

The Northwoods Chapter of the Ice Age Trail Alliance will be hosting their annual guided spring wildflower hike in the Harrison Hills area. They'll be meeting at 10am at the Turtle Lake Road Trailhead, which is located off of County J. They'll have signs out. Organizers note the terrain is considered hilly-moderate difficulty.

The Tomahawk Farm and Flea Market will be held at Qualheim's True Value parking lot from 8:00 am to 2:00 pm.  The market will feature a variety of vendors including: in season plants, farm fresh produce, sour dough bread, dog treats, crafters, direct sales and flea market treasurers.

The Tomahawk Area Historical Society will hold a brat fry fundraiser in the Tomahawk Trig's Brat Hut from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm. Funds will go towards their new Antique Print Shop/Boat Museum project.

Monday, May 13

Town of Bradley will be holding their Town Board meeting this evening immediately following the public hearing at 5:05 pm.

County Highway K west of North Rifle Road will be closed to all through traffic today, for large culvert replacement. Oneida County Highway Department anticipates the road to be reopened on Tuesday May 14th. Please us alternate route.

The Oneida County Highway Department announced a day-long closure of Oneida County Highway K just west of North Rifle Road. Crews will be completing a large culvert replacement. They hope to have the project completed and the road reopened by Tuesday, May 14. Motorists should use an alternative route.

HAVEN of Lincoln County is holding a fundraising Rummage Sale from 9:00 to 4:00 pm at 1106 E. 8th Street in Merrill.

Northwoods Veterans Groups Blood Drive from 11:00 am to 4:00 pm at the Rhinelander Veterans Center, Rhinelander. To schedule your donation call the Community Blood Center at 800-280-4102. There will also be a luncheon featuring, homemade chicken noodle soup, pulled pork sandwiches and cake for dessert.

The Tomahawk Elementary School Phy Ed Department will hold the 3rd grade track meet at Noon at the Hatchet Track.

The Tomahawk High School Drama Department will be presenting their annual spring children's play with a community performance at 7pm in the district auditorium. This year's production is 'A Bagful of Fables', inspired by Aesop's fables. Admission is a free-will offering. Following the performance, the drama and forensics departments will be holding their annual awards ceremony at approximately 8:15pm.

Saturday, May 18

HAVEN of Lincoln County is holding a fundraising Rummage Sale from 9:00 to 4:00 pm at 1106 E. 8th Street in Merrill.

School District of Tomahawk Class of 2024 Graduation Ceremony will be held at 7pm in the School District Fieldhouse. Tickets are not needed to attend.

Saturday, May 25

The 25th annual Memorial Service at the Veterans' Monument in Union Grove Cemetery, at 4521 Lakewood Road in Harshaw, will be at 11:30 am.  The program will honor past military Veterans.  For those interested, the Einar H. Ingman, Jr. Motorcycle Honor Procession will gather at the American Legion Post 93 in Tomahawk at 9:15 am and depart at 10:35 am.  For more information go to veteransceremony.org

There will be a Veteran's Memorial Ceremony, honoring those who served, at Prairie Rapids Cemetery today at 9:00 am, located on Prairie Rapids Road, in the Town of Nokomis. In-case of inclement weather, ceremony will be held at the town hall on Lake Nokomis Rd.

There will be a community baby shower for pregnant and parenting families with children 0 to 18 months.  The event will be from 3:00 to 5:00 pm at the Corpus Christi Center of St. Mary Catholic Church in Tomahawk.

Friday, May 31

It's the last day of school for students at the Tomahawk School District.

The Merrill Noon Optimist will be hosting the Good New Project E-cycle Event at the Merrill Festival Grounds.

The Tomahawk Area Historical Society will be holding a Brat Fry Fundraiser at the Trig's Tomahawk Brat Hut between 10:00 am and 2:00 pm. Funds will go towards the new Antique Print Shop and Tomahawk Boat Museum Project.

The Table Free Community Meal will be served at St. Augustine's Church at 39 S. Pelham Street in Rhinelander.  The doors open at 4:00 pm and the meal is served starting at 5:30 pm.
