Following a marijuana ring which reached some employees, the Antigo School District will now require drug testing.
Their School board made that decision last night, passing the policy unanimously. It will require all new hires to undergo a mandatory drug testing before being hired.
Following investigations, several district employees were charged with buying or selling marijuana. This includes former elementary principal John Lund who is being charged with 7 felonies for his alleged role.
The Merrill School District passed a similar policy last month. Antigo’s new policy will take effect immediately, and board members hope it will restore confidence in the community.
