City of Tomahawk April Police Report

03 May News

Tomahawk Police Chief Don Johnson has issued his April monthly city police report.

During the month officers responded to 187 calls, issuing 10 citations and referring 8 cases to the District Attorney. The most frequent calls were for suspicious activity, citizens assist and driving complaints.

The department received their new Chevrolet Tahoe police squad at the end of the month. The money to install lighting equipment came from a DOT traffic safety grant.

Applications are being received to fill a vacant patrol officer position. At the time of the report 36 applications were in, and a test is scheduled for June. Oral interviews will be scheduled when the new Chief is appointed.

Chief Johnson wrote that Dispatcher Patricia Reeves has announced her retirement effective June 22, 2012. He noted that Reeves took it upon herself to document and organize the historical records of the department and has completed a very detailed and comprehensive history. He said her fifteen years of experience will be missed and they extend heartfelt gratitude and appreciation to her in her well-deserved retirement.
