Three people from multiple states will potentially face marijuana charges in Oneida County.
The Oneida County sheriff’s office has referred 63-year-old Barbara Elliot of Wausau and her 40-year-old son Jeremy Williams of Portland, Oregon, to the district attorney’s office on charges related to the sale and possession of marijuana. Twenty-six-year-old Andrew Yungerman of Rhinelander has also been referred on charges.
Investigators were tipped off after a Rhinelander freight company found a suspicious package bound for Clackamas, Oregon. After receiving a search warrant, a police canine sniffed the package and police discovered $106,000 inside.
Police in Portland later found another $12,000, a marijuana growing operation and 24 pounds of packaged marijuana. Williams is also facing charges for growing and distributing the drug in Portland.
