Rhinelander Man Accused of Injuring Infant to Appear in Court

A Rhinelander man accused of injuring an infant he was babysitting is expected in court this afternoon.

Twenty three year old Christopher Schimke was arrested last month after a child he was babysitting sustained injuries. The child was brought to the hospital with bruising. Schimke allegedly injured the infant, when it would not stop crying.

Schimke is facing 3 felony charges: child Abuse-High Probability/Great Harm, 2nd-Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and Strangulation and Suffocation.

His arraignment is scheduled for this afternoon where he is expected to enter his plea on those charges.
