A Merrill man was arrested over the weekend after leaving the scene of a roll over.
A Lincoln County deputy responded to the scene on County Road C east of K for the one car rollover. When the deputy arrived the vehicle was empty with signs the driver crawled out according to the report.
A Merrill Police Officer and a Lincoln County deputy located the driver, Robert Bergmann at his residence in Merrill.
He said he rolled the vehicle after swerving to miss a deer. When asked about the smell of alcohol on his breath, he said he began drinking when he got home because he was upset about the crash.
Bergmann was not allowed to drink as a rule of probation and was arrested for violating. He was also cited for unauthorized display, no insurance and failing to notify law enforcement of a crash.
