Three people accused in a bizarre fraud case in Portage County have now been formally charged.

Officials believe that Charles Jost, his sister Delores Disher and her husband Ronald fraudulently received Marie Jost’s social security checks. The Amherst woman hasn’t been seen in more than 20 years, she would be 101.

According to court records, Charles Jost has been charged with 4 felonies: theft, unauthorized use of an individual’s personal documents, forgery and mail fraud. He has a competency evaluation scheduled after his attorney questioned whether he can participate in the defense.

The Disher’s are each facing similar charges. They all have court appearances scheduled for later in the week.
