The Tomahawk School District outpaced the statewide average on last year’s ACT scores.
The numbers, included in the packet for tonight’s curriculum and assessments committee meeting, were sent to the school from the ACT as part of their college readiness letter.
Tomahawk High School’s composite score last year was a 22.5 while the state wide average was 22.1. The school was proficient in Science and especially mathematics where the school scored 1 and 1.4 points higher than the state average, respectively
Other trends revealed in the charts include more students in the district actually taking the ACT’s last year. The school had its second highest score in the past 5 years.
Finally the ACT extrapolates the numbers to determine if the students are “ready for college-level course work” and over 70% are in English and Algebra, higher than the state average.
