Two people are in custody on theft charges in Lincoln County after help from a citizen.
A Wausau man called 911 reporting a suspicious vehicle on County Rd. P and County Rd W. The man thought they may have been stealing and followed the truck. The driver tried to lose the reporting party and turned into a driveway on Cain Creek Rd.
At that point the caller blocked the suspect into the driveway. The suspect started ramming the caller’s vehicle in an attempt to escape according to the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office.
Deputies arrived minutes later and took 36 year old Scott Martin and 25 year old Stephanie Stamper into custody. Martin is now facing a charge of theft and four counts of felony bail jumping. Stamper was booked on charges of party to a crime theft, possession of drug paraphernalia and two counts of bail jumping.
Both have other cases pending in Lincoln county. They will each be held until bond hearings later today in Lincoln County Court.
