An adviser from Nicolet College has been presented with a statewide award.
For her years of exemplary service, Connie Gensler has been honored with the Outstanding Achievement Award from the Wisconsin Academic Advising Association.
Leanne Vigue Miranda, a fellow adviser and the one who nominated Gensler says, “Connie is very dedicated to her students and she puts in an incredible amount of time and energy to help them be successful.
Gensler has worked at Nicolet for 17 years splitting time between advising and teaching. She is also a registered nurse and is currently teaching in the Nursing Assistant Program.
Gensler summed up her pleasure in watching her students graduate by saying, “For me it boils down to making a difference in the lives of my students.”
In order to be considered for the award, nominees must have 10 years in advising and have made distinct contributions above and beyond their work in advising.
