Area 4-H groups are currently promoting their activities and successes as part of national 4-H week.
4-H is the nation’s largest youth development organization, with more than 6 million youth in urban neighborhoods, suburban schoolyards and rural farming communities, including right here in Lincoln County. They say members stand out among their peers: building revolutionary opportunities and implementing community-wide change at an early age.
At the Lincoln County 4-H through the UW-Extension, they have more information on events and activities including a newsletter with updates throughout the year.
As part of National 4-H week, local participants are reminded October is also the time of year that members and leaders are completing their re-enrollment forms for the new year.
Members of 4-H join a long list of notable Americans who’s lives were shaped by the organization including: Badger Coach Brett Bielema; Packer Great, Reggie White; Musicians johnny Cash and faith Hill, and former first lady Jackie Kennedy.
