The Public Works Department will begin curbside collection of yard waste beginning next Monday.
Residents should place their bagged yard waste on their street terrace area no earlier than Saturday. Branches should be neatly placed with the butt ends facing the street. Stumps, materials containing dirt or rocks, and yard waste blown into the street will not be picked up. Residents with stumps or large volumes of yard waste may take them to the old garage site.
While residents are doing fall yard work, Wisconsin Public Service reminds everyone “Safety First.” They say Ladders, tree branches and power lines do not mix. Whether cleaning gutters, painting, adding storm windows or making repairs try to stay at least 10 feet from any power line.
Fall is also an excellent time to plant trees, but remember to “Look down,” and find out exactly where utility lines are buried by contacting Diggers Hotline “Look up” by checking to ensure high tree growth won’t affect an over headline.
