Charges have been filed against the driver of a vehicle involved in a fatal 1 car accident in Merrill.
Twenty four year old Ashley Baumann will face 9 felony charges including two counts each of homicide by intoxicated use of a vehicle, and homicide by negligent operation of a vehicle.
The fatal single vehicle crash occurred in the early morning hours of June 7 on South Alexander Street in Merrill. The criminal complaint says Baumann and three other women were at a bar that night and were trying to find a house party when their car rolled over, ejecting three of the four from the vehicle. The report also lists Baumann’s blood alcohol content at nearly twice the legal limit.
Baumann has an initial court appearance next Monday in Lincoln County Court. Assistant Attorney General Tara Jenswold will assist the district attorney’s office as a special prosecutor.
