A US veteran, later captured in an award winning HBO series will be in Edgar today for a celebration.

The High School is hosting Herbert Suerth who appeared on the series Band of Brothers. The mini-series tells the story of Easy Company 506th regiment of the 101st Airborne. It begins with their 1942 training and goes to the end of World War II

The tale is described as “ordinary men who did extraordinary things.”

Suerth will be at the Edgar celebration beginning at 6:30. Following the program will be a book signing. The cost is free, but they will be taking a free will donation for the Wounded Warrior Foundation.
