Tomahawk Main Street announced the winners of the 2nd annual Scarecrow contest which is part of the Fall Family Festival.
1st Place was “Big Bird” which was created by Jim Wise and stood in front of Tomahawk Surplus Store. Wise designated the $200 prize to benefit Special Olympic World Games Coach Bonnie Kahn .
2nd Place goes to “Jake, Luke & Colton” placed in front of What’s Brewin’ and created by Van Gregor in homage of her three grandsons.
3rd went to “FredaBillamenia “ named after Fred and Bill from Pine Tree Supper Club created by Team Fishbeck & Stocker.
The judges said they “struggled (with) which scarecrow to choose for the judge’s pick as all the entries this year were exceptional.”
In the end, they chose “Elmer”, created by Trudy from Century 21 Best Way Realty. Throughout the contest Elmer, fashioned like the vintage candy corn, got married and became a proud father of twins.
Contestants are reminded that it is their responsibility to remove their scarecrow and just leave the frame.
