Reports Indicate Hunter Suffers Heart Attack Near Tomahawk

Preliminary reports indicate a Northwoods hunter suffered a fatal heart attack near his stand.

On Thursday evening, the son of the victim called 911 advising that he was checking on his father who was out hunting. The stand was located on Highway 86 in the Town of Tomahawk.

The sheriff’s office identified the man as 54 year old Nicholas Asmondy Sr. of Lakewood Township in Oconto County.

The victim was found unresponsive under his tree stand. Authorities believe he suffered a heart attack while in the stand 20 feet up.
