Inspired by a parishioners’ family members and loved ones out east, St. Mary’s Church in Tomahawk is holding a “cold weather drive” to help families and children from Superstorm Sandy.
There are still many people without heat or power as the winter season begins. The next two weeks, St. Mary’s will be collecting blankets, winter jackets, hats, gloves and mittens and hand warmers.
All items must either be new or gently used and very clean. Anyone with items to donate can drop them off at St. Mary’s Church in the Harris Portico or in the main foyer of the Church by Sunday, December 2nd. All items will be shipped to St. Vincent DePaul in Long Island, NY.
They will also take donations for large strong boxes, and packing tape. Donations for shipping will also be accepted and appreciated with checks written out to St. Mary’s Church with Sandy Victims in the memo section. Questions or more information, please call Ann Pintens at 715-966-5904 or Christine Brown at 715-437-0477.
