Now that Thanksgiving is out of the way, Tomahawk will be kicking off the next holiday season tonight.
The Tomahawk Chamber and Mayor Bob Lee announced they will have the official lighting of the Tomahawk Christmas Tree this evening.
Mayor Lee will be in Washington Park tonight to light the train, gazebo, and the newly planted pine tree. The new Washington Park tree is a replacement for the one formally located at the end of Wisconsin Ave. The tree lighting takes place at 5:00 tonight.
Tamra Anderson says, “We are very excited this year to partner with the city.” She thinks the addition of the tree lighting ceremony will enhance the event.
The traditions will then continue tomorrow with kids shopping at local merchants and free movies at the Tomahawk Cinema.
The annual Christmas Parade featuring Santa Claus will begin at 4:30 tomorrow running from Wisconsin Avenue to Second St. Santa will then make his way to his cabin in Winter Wonderland. Tomahawk Ambassadors will provide hot chocolate and cookies, plus they will have a campfire.
