A “Go Local” shopping campaign is once again underway in Tomahawk.
This is the fourth year for the “Win the Window” promotion, which offers a unique shopping experience for a good cause. The store fronts this year will all be themed with the story “All Trails Lead to Downtown Tomahawk.” This is coupled with a marketing campaign and new brochures with that same theme.
According to Main Street Executive Director Liz Milender, “The ‘Win the Window’ participation has translated into over half a million dollars kept local to date and has provided nutritious food to kids in need.”
Participants must either make a qualifying purchase or food donation to the Salvation Army’s “Happy Kids Backpack Program” to enter the contest.
New this year, some participating businesses will have unique videos available for those with smart phones to access using the QR code. The videos will also be available for those without smart phones on Tomahawk Main Street’s youtube channel.
Within each “Win the Window” storefront will be gifts related to a window’s theme for which the contestant may compete. Milender says, “The themed windows-fishing, antiquing, having fun in the sun, enjoying the snow, relaxing or opening Christmas presents, is hoped to especially appeal to shoppers.”
Game card with rules are available from over 80 participating businesses including here at WJJQ. The event got an early kick-off on Black Friday and will continue through December 19 at 5:00pm, when cards must be turned in.
