A Forest County teen was sentenced yesterday for his role in a stabbing incident in Mole Lake.
Sixteen year old Craig McGeshick was tried as an adult and yesterday he was sentenced to 4 years in prison and another six years on extended supervision. In addition he will get 3 more years on probation.
McGeshick, along with 5 other men, was involved in a stabbing incident in Mole Lake. Complaints say that the men attacked the victim because he was going to testify in a separate case. The victim survived but suffered multiple stab wounds and facial lacerations in the attack. Law enforcement says it was likely gang related.
Forest County District Attorney Chuck Simono said McGeshick was open about his own role in the incident but would not cooperate with information about the other men involved.
The defense attorney suggested a juvenile facility during sentencing, but the judge, citing McGeshick’s lack of cooperation, gave the stern sentence in adult prison. He was facing up to 30 years.
Three other men accused of being involved will have their trials starting early next year.
