A shooting in Lincoln County earlier this week appears to have accidentally shot himself during a hunting outing.
On Monday afternoon Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital notified law enforcement of a patient brought there with a gunshot wound. Sixty six year old Charles J. Lawn of Tomahawk was brought to the hospital via private automobile.
He was then transported to Aspirus Wausau hospital where he was further treated for a gunshot wound to his neck.
He was interviewed by the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office. He told investigators he accidentally shot himself with a .22 long rifle while rabbit hunting with some friends.
The investigation will continue, but no criminal charges are being sought at this time.
