A 56 year old Merrill man could face charges following a crash early Wednesday. A Merrill officer along with a deputy responded to the crash off of Highway 107. After using the jaws of life to extract the man, he was airlifted to Aspirus hospital. He was released Friday. The deputy investigating the crash is awaiting chemical tests but indicated a second offense charge of operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated will be sought.
A 16 year old Tomahawk woman was injured following a one vehicle crash Saturday morning in the town of Merrill. The crash occurred at just before 10 on County Road C. The girl lost control of her vehicle and rolled into the ditch. She was transferred via ambulance for treatment of non-life threatening injuries.
Two people were injured following a single vehicle crash Saturday afternoon in Rock Falls. At just after 1:30 a 911 call reported the crash on highway 107 north of County Rd E. Deputies determined that the vehicle, driven by a 57 year old woman, left the road and struck several trees. The driver was taken to Ministry Good Samaritan and later transferred. She was listed in stable condition as of last night. Her passenger a 37 year old man was airlifted from the scene and was listed in fair condition. Deputies are investigating what caused the vehicle to leave the roadway.
Ten people reported striking deer this past week, down from past weeks. A bear was also struck on Highway 51 near Irma Friday.
