An Illinois man was taken into custody after an OWI with a child in the vehicle in Forest County.

The Wisconsin State Patrol originally stopped the vehicle on State Highway 139 for speeding yesterday afternoon. Following a sobriety test, 35 year old Alexander Nikonchuk was taken into custody for a first offense operating a motor vehicle under the influence.

The state patrol unit says he also had a child in the vehicle at the time.

In addition to the OWI charge, he was also charged with possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia.
