Military members throughout the country and even the world will be getting holiday greetings thanks to some people in Merrill.

The Merrill Area Community Enrichment Center has sent out over 1,600 Christmas cards to area veteran’s homes and veteran’s hospitals. In addition, the group also sent a special gift box to a platoon in Okinawa, Japan.

The group says there was an increase of nearly 300 cards over last year as they continue the annual tradition. Throughout the past 3 months, various groups attended the Enrichment Center to individually write out the cards including a church from Woodruff and Wisconsin Public Service.
