With yesterday’s snowfall, some area snowmobile trails will be opening this weekend.
The Oneida County Forestry, Land and Recreation Department says the Oneida County State Funded Snowmobile Trail System will officially open for the 2012-2013 winter season at 8:00am Saturday morning.
As always, the department recommends staying on clearly marked trails. They also say to exercise caution when riding a snowmobile, especially when the trails are in rough early season condition.
According to several area snowmobile clubs, not all lakes and rivers are safe and they won’t be marked until conditions improve. They say not to ride on those bodies of water until they are marked.
At WJJQ we will keep you up to date on all snowmobile trail openings throughout the area.
