The Merrill area will look to revive an annual winter tradition that has been missing for some time.

Officials are once again planning on hosting a Winterfest celebration which will coincide with the city hosting Sled Dog Races the first weekend in February.

The sled dog races take place off of Highway 64. The rest of the events including, spaghetti dinners, ice sculptures, skating, and other winter activities will be spread out throughout the rest of the community.

The last Winterfest for the city of Merrill took place 10 years ago in 2003.
