After more than 3 and a half decades on the job, a deputy in in the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office will be retiring this weekend.
Tomorrow will be the final day for Deputy Peter Annis as he completes 37 years of service with the County.
Deputy Annis in his duty became traffic safety coordinator where he helped secure grant money for programs such as Click it or Ticket; You Drink, You Drive, You Lose; and Zero in Wisconsin. Since the implementation of those programs he oversaw, there has been a significant decrease in speed and alcohol crashes and fatalities.
Annis also served as EVOC instructor, conducting in house training of deputies on emergency vehicle operations.
He began his career on December 1, 1975.
