Probation Officer Terminated; Court Appearance Postponed

28 Dec News

A former probation officer facing charges in Marathon County has had her initial appearance scheduled for today postponed.

Kim Hoenisch was charged last week with felonies for misconduct in office, possession of narcotic drugs and burglary. Marathon County Judge Greg Grau recused himself from the case and Taylor County Judge Ann Knox-Bauer was assigned to oversee the proceedings. Today’s appearance has been postponed until next month.

Hoenisch is accused of burglarizing the house of a probationer in June. She allegedly entered the residence in search of pain medication. The complaint alleges that Hoenisch later took the probationer’s medication when the probationer was at her office on a later date in July.

She was terminated from the Department of Corrections last week as well. The DOC secretary, Ed Wall said in a news release,”Agent Hoenisch’s behavior impacts on the public’s trust in DOC to carry out our mission of public safety and offender accountability.” They said she was released for failure to exercise good judgment in dealing with employees and offenders.
