Time is quickly running out to hand in nomination papers for those seeking a public office this spring.

The deadline to file for this spring’s election comes up tomorrow at 5:00pm.

The Spring Primary will be held Tuesday, February 19, 2013. The Spring general Election will be held Tuesday, April 2, 2013.

State offices to be elected include Superintendent of Public Instruction, Supreme Court Justice, Court of Appeals and Circuit Court. In addition to some municipal seats, the Lincoln County Branch 2 Circuit Judge currently held by new appointee John Yackel will appear on the ballot.

Representatives from the Town of King note that nomination papers that were handed out or mailed by the clerk did not contain the instruction sheets and all the necessary forms in order for candidates to be placed on the ballot.

They say it is important to contact the Town of King Clerk before tomorrow’s deadline to ensure that nomination papers have been correctly completed and filled out. The number for the town of King Clerk is 453-4883.
