There are only a couple days left to donate items at the Chamber for a statewide winter clothing drive.
This year the Tomahawk Chamber, along with nearly 80 other tourism organizations have been serving as drop off points for “The Big Bundle Up.” The charity drive, put on by the Wisconsin Department of Tourism, will collect new and gently used gloves, hats scarves, coats, sweaters and other winter gear.
Last year the Tomahawk Chamber participated in the Great Lakes Mitten Campaign. As part of that campaign the chamber collected mittens that were donated to the families of the Friends program at the Tomahawk Elementary School.
In announcing the event, executive director Tamra Anderson says, “It was great to be part of The Great Lakes Mitten Campaign last year and we are really excited serve as a local drop off site for “The Big Bundle Up” this year.”
She added that she’s hoping for a great response, and noted that the items donated will go back to organizations and charities in the area.
Residents and Visitors to the Tomahawk Area are encouraged to donate winter gear through tomorrow at the Tomahawk Chamber of Commerce and Visitors Center during normal business hours.
