Today the Community Blood Center will look for Tomahawk’s help during this slow donation time.
Jan Hadsell at the Community Blood Center says, “school and business blood drives usually don’t run the first week of January, so community drives become even more significant.” The amount of blood donations expected during the first week of January is about 40% less than is collected in a normal week.
Hadsell added, “Giving blood for someone you don’t know is compassionate and selfless, and we’re thankful for everyone who schedules a donation appointment for the blood drive (next) Friday at the Hospital.”
A Tomahawk Community Blood Drive is planned for this afternoon from 12:00 Noon to 5:00 p.m. It will be held at Ministry Sacred Heart Hospital in Tomahawk. Hospital staff, volunteers, visitors, neighbors, and community members are invited to participate.
