The Nicolet College Learning in Retirement program kicked off its 2013 Winter/Spring Session yesterday afternoon.
This session they will once again be offering more than 30 courses. Community representative Nancy Brissee says, ” Any of these offerings is a great way for active retirees to learn new things and meet new people.”
Classes begin next Monday and upcoming topics include The Alaskan Highway: Then and Now, Reading the Constitution, Medical Myths, Syria and the Middle East, Movie Night, Tulip-o-mania, Poetry, LIR Chorus, and Ced’s Nature Series, along with many others.
Brissee added, “The whole point is to have fun and stay active and every class offers the opportunity to do exactly that.”
Classes will be held throughout the Northwoods in Rhinelander, Tomahawk, Crandon, Three Lakes and Wabeno. Some classes will meet just once while others are held once a week over the course of months. About 300 Northwoods retirees belong to the organization with a membership of just $35 per year for unlimited classes.
