Officials have identified the man who died in an Oneida County crash late last week.

According to the Oneida County Sheriff’s Office, the driver was Eldred L. Pagel, 56, of Crandon. The vehicle left Stella Lake Road, East of Rhinelander and struck a tree. Pagel was the lone occupant of the vehicle and was pronounced dead a short time later, possibly due to a medical condition prior to the crash.
Oneida County authorities are still investigating the crash.
