The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is once again reminding residents of the controlled burn rules.

Residents should remember, in light of the recent mild weather, that complete snow coverage is required for burning under the winter burning rules.

While not all controlled burns need to be reported to the Sheriff’s office, those in well-traveled areas or areas large in size should be called in. Last week, authorities were called to a possible structure fire in Gleason that turned out to be a controlled burn.
