Five people were injured in a two vehicle crash in Vilas County early yesterday morning.

Rescue crews were sent to the accident at the intersection of Highway 155 and Lost Lake Drive South at just before 2am. The operator of one vehicle was extracted by the Saint Germain Fire Department and transported to Howard Young Medical Center.

The driver and 3 passengers in the other vehicle were also transferred to area hospitals for treatment of injuries.

The names of those involved are being withheld. The Vilas County Sheriff’s Office continues to investigate and they say alcohol was a factor.
