Several area fire departments battled a fire and the cold yesterday afternoon in Oneida County.
A homeowner in the town of Newbold arrived to find the home on fire and called 911. The home was located on Rainbow Lake Road.
Lake Tomahawk and Pelican units also aided the Newbold Fire Department in extinguishing the blaze.
The below zero temperatures adds another element of danger to firefighters with freezing water and exposure with firefighters getting wet in the extreme cold.
No injuries were immediately reported and the fire is under investigation.
