Minocqua Police took a man into custody following a violent incident which also included a fire.

Early yesterday morning, they responded to a report of a man damaging vehicles with a hammer on Back Bay Rd in the town of Minocqua. Officials determined this was part of an ongoing domestic violence incident.

As a result 29 year old Jonathon Thorman of Livingston, Wis. was taken into custody.

A female subject was taken to the hospital with substantial injuries. An officer also sustained minor injuries while attempting to apprehend Thorman.

While on the scene, officers discovered a residence was on fire, and several departments responded to extinguish the fire. The investigation further identified 2 additional vehicles and a third residence damaged by force.

The investigation is continuing with several agencies participating.
