There is officially a new Sheriff in town.
Grady Hartman was sworn in as the next Sheriff in Oneida County by Patrick O’Melia this morning.
Hartman thanked his family and the many residents of Oneida County for encouraging him to apply for the position. He also noted former Sheriffs Jeff Hoffman and Tim Miller.
Chief Deputy John Sweeney served as Interim Sheriff following Hoffman’s retirement. He said, “I am confident that Sgt. Hartman will work with our citizens of Oneida County and our County Board to ensure that we have policy that keeps the delivery of public safety services a high priority.”
Hartman immediately assumed the duties of Sheriff following his swearing in. Governor Scott Walker appointed Hartman to the position on Tuesday.
