Sheriff’s Office Seeks Public Help in Hit and Run

28 Jan News

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office is seeking the public’s help in a hit and run case last week.

A resident on County Rd D at County Rd B called 911 to report an older model pick-up truck, possibly a GM lost control and struck numerous objects including a power pole at the intersection before fleeing east on County Rd D. The incident happened at around 9:00pm Wednesday.

When a Deputy arrived on the scene he found road signs, a stop sign, a junction box and a power pole were all damaged. The power pole was snapped off on the top half and had to be replaced by WPS workers causing power to be out for hours. The sheriff’s office says the suspect vehicle will have extensive rear end damage.

If you have any information on this incident you are asked to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office at 715-453-5747 or 715-536-6272. Callers may also call Crime Stoppers of Lincoln County at 715-536-3726. Callers to Crime Stoppers can remain anonymous and may qualify for a cash reward.
