A third teen has been arrested after investigation into a string of burglaries in Oneida County.
Deputies initially took a 15 and 17 year old teen into custody late last week for multiple charges related to burglary and theft. As a result of further investigation Jeffrey J. Stefonik of Monico has now been referred to the district attorney’s office for charges related to burglary, theft and criminal damage to property.
A concerned citizen observed a suspicious vehicle in the area and heard what appeared to be glass breaking. That citizen was able to get the license plate of the vehicle and relayed that information to law enforcement.
Nine burglaries in the town of Monico had occurred at 8 properties over the past month.
