A semi driver learned the dangers of passing a plow truck in adverse weather conditions last week.
At just after noon Wednesday, a Lincoln County Highway worker contacted authorities about a semi that had struck his plow truck on Highway 51 near Merrill.
According to investigating officials the side plow wing was up but a passing semi being driven by an Iowa man struck the wing. The contact ripped a hole in the side of the semi cabin from the passenger door through the sleeper. The plow truck did not suffer any damage.
Neither driver was injured in the crash. Drivers are reminded to use caution and give plow drivers plenty of room.
