05 Feb News

Officers responded to a disorderly conduct complaint over the weekend at a Tomahawk residence. The suspect had left prior to the officer’s arrival. The officer contacted the man and informed him of the situation and warned him any further incidents could lead to arrest.

On Saturday afternoon there was a 2 vehicle accident on Bridge Street. There were no injuries reported. One of the driver’s, a 34 year old female was cited for driving without insurance.

A 25 year old Georgia man was taken into custody following a report of shoplifting Saturday evening. An employee contacted police regarding the theft of a bottle of alcohol. The man was taken into custody, brought to the hospital for clearance and transferred to the Lincoln County Jail.

On Sunday, an off duty police officer received a call about a person having car trouble. A patrol officer went to the business location and found a vehicle with heavy damage and no one around. After asking around, they contacted the owner, who said he had swerved to avoid a deer and struck several trees. Because the actual collision occurred outside of the city limits, the case was then handed over to the county.
