Team USA Special Olympics Coach Bonnie Kahn’s experience is wrapping up in South Korea.
The team wrapped up competition yesterday. Kahn, who is coaching the cross country ski team says the course was in the best shape it has been in since the games started.
Following those events, all the athletes got together one last time for the emotional closing ceremonies. This also included the athletic tradition of trading clothing and pins with the athletes from other countries.
Today the team begins its transition back to the US. They will spend the day in Seoul. Coach Kahn said lunch at KFC was a welcome change, as it tasted like prime rib. They have tried experiencing the culture, but she couldn’t eat cold fish for breakfast.
Team USA will be heading back to the USA in the coming days. The Wisconsin contingent of three are all bringing home medals in their various disciplines.
