The Tomahawk School Board will have a report tonight on a proposal that would incorporate learning both inside and outside of the classroom using technology.
The Blended Learning Proposal includes online learning, and traditional face to face instruction. This provides multiple enriching opportunities for students to learn in an environment that fosters academic growth, responsible citizenship, innovation and collaboration according to their executive summary.
As part of the plan, the school would transition to students being equipped with Google Chromebooks. Much of the price tag is being covered by a settlement from Microsoft and prize money from Cellcom. The goal is to purchase 523 Chromebooks this year and an additional 281 next year.
Tonight’s School Board Meeting is at 6:30 in the Middle School Library. A informational blended learning meeting for parents and community members is scheduled for February 25.
