The Tomahawk School district will host an informational meeting this evening to discuss “Blended Learning.”
The School Board approved the proposal at their most recent meeting earlier this month. The Tomahawk High School will pilot the program with a segment of the faculty next fall. The program will also include students receiving Google Chromebooks next school year.
Tonight’s meeting will take place in the auditorium beginning at 7:00. Parents and community members interested in learning more about blended learning should attend.
The meeting will discuss how blended learning is different than a traditional classroom, providing more opportunities for students to learn in an environment that fosters individualized academic growth, responsible citizenship, innovation, and collaboration. Technology, such as Google Apps and Haiku will continue to allow teachers flexibility for working with whole class, small groups or individual students based on learning needs.
