A Kenosha man was arrested late last week on possession of stolen property, after his vehicle entered the ditch.
The man was traveling in Lincoln County along County Rd A in the morning hours. A passerby reported the vehicle in the ditch. The 23 year old driver was behind the wheel when Deputies arrived. The man told authorities he had gotten lost and had gone into the ditch overnight.
After smelling the odor of intoxicants, he was placed through field sobriety tests and taken into custody on a first offense charge of operating while intoxicated.
When a check was done on the dealer license plate, it was discovered that it was stolen during a burglary at a business in Silver Lake, Wis. The man was then booked into the Lincoln County Jail on both the OWI and possession of stolen property charges.
