Graduates of the Medical Assistant program at Nicolet College have once again had a successful showing on the National Certification Exam.
For the second year in a row, every one of the graduates taking the exam passed on their first attempt.
Program Director Candy Dailey said, “We were absolutely thrilled when we found out that all of our students passed the exam.”
The 18 Medical Assistant graduates who took the 2012 exam came from numerous area communities including Rhinelander, Minocqua, Eagle River, Merrill, Tripoli and Tomahawk. Of those graduates, 15 are currently working in the health care field in the Northwoods or plan to continue their college education to earn an advanced health care credential.
The national exam, administered by the American Association of Medical Assistants, also provides an annual report ranking graduate test scores. This serves as a report card for the college’s Medical Assistant program. Nicolet graduates ranked in the top 95th percentile nationally.
Dailey added, “It’s important to know that we are properly preparing students for health care careers; and we are continually improving the program to meet technological changes and the needs of the community.”
