A 26-year-old Indiana man was killed in a snowmobile accident over the weekend in Northern Wisconsin.
DNR Warden and Snowmobile Safety Administrator Gary Eddy says the man was killed Sunday afternoon when he failed to negotiate a curve while driving his snowmobile on a road open to snowmobile traffic in the Town of Barnes in Bayfield County.
Eddy says the accident occurred around 3 p.m. Speed and alcohol are believed to be factors. An investigation continues.
This tragic event pushes the number of snowmobiler fatalities in Wisconsin during this snowmobiling season to 16.
