The Rhinelander School District will be taking additional steps in the search for their next superintendent tonight.
The Rhinelander District Board will be holding a special meeting to interview the three finalists for the position. The meeting will begin at 4:30 with the first candidate interview at 4:45 in Professional Development Center of the Administration Center.
The first candidate is Jean Broadwater. She is currently a superintendent in Minnesota at the Houston School District. Following her interview is that of Kelli Jacobi who currently works in the Rhinelander School District as the Director of Curriculum and Instruction. Her interview begins at 6. Finally, DC Everest Principal Tom Johansson gets his chance at 7:15.
The meetings is open to the public. They do anticipate entering closed session to discuss any action they may take.
Current Superintendent Roger Erdahl announced last year that he would be retiring in June. Whoever is named superintendent will have to deal with a district who just passed a referendum to address a projected budget shortfall the next few years.
This Rhinelander Superintendent search comes on the heels of Merrill naming a new Superintendent after nearly 2 years with an interim filling the position. Tomahawk’s superintendent Roger Rindo recently participated in an interview for the same position in Chippewa Falls.
