The State of Wisconsin is teaming with the reigning fastest texter in the country to prevent texting while driving.
Three Lakes High School students will be encouraged to sign the “It can wait” pledge this morning. That pledge says “no text message, email, website or video is worth the risk of endangering my life or the lives of others on the road.”
Student and LG Texting Champion Austin Wierschke is also part of a campaign to tell people that a text message can wait if you are driving.
The Three Lakes Senior is working with the Department of Transportation and the State Patrol, recently filming a commercial that will air this spring. Texting while driving has been illegal in the state of Wisconsin the past several years.
The 10:00 am. program at Three Lakes will include a video presentation and the use of a distracted driving simulator. For more information on the pledge visit www.itcanwait.com
